VHFC Physician Graduates Top of His Class

The Viral Hemorrhagic Fever Consortium is delighted to announce that Dr. Donald S. Grant, Chief Physician of the Lassa Fever Program at Kenema Government Hospital in Sierra Leone, has obtained a Master of Science in Public Health degree from the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Dr. Grant, who graduated top of his class with a 4.0 GPA, has already returned to his native Sierra Leone to continue his work with the Lassa Fever Program in Kenema.

Dr. Grant has worked at the Kenema Government Hospital since 2010 where he treats patients infected with the deadly Ebola and Lassa viruses. He is also actively involved in community outreach aimed at educating the public on ways to prevent transmission of and infection from viruses that cause hemorrhagic fevers.
