Publication - Researchers at the Scripps Research Institute make major advances in the fight against Ebola virus

Professor Erica Ollmann Saphire's group at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla California has published ground-breaking research into the mechanisms behind how the Ebola virus replicates and spreads. These findings - recently published in Cell - provide key insights into the chemical chain reaction that enables the virus to form its shell, strengthen and cast off infected cells that result in deadly hemorrhagic fever.

Saphire's research also received coverage in U-T San Diego.
