Mr. Boisen is currently the Project Director of Infectious Disease product development at Corgenix Medical Corp. He is also concurrently a graduate student in Dr. Garry's Lab at Tulane University's School of Medicine's Biomedical Sciences Program. Mr. Boisen graduated from San Jose State University in 1990 with a B.S. in Medical Microbiology & Immunology. Since graduating he has worked in the in vitro diagnostic product development field specializing in infectious disease point of care testing. He has in depth experience in monoclonal antibody development, immunochemistry, protein chemistry, and infectious disease microbiology. The areas of product development he has participated in included enteric pathogens, food pathogens, respiratory pathogens, sexually transmitted diseases, select agents and biowarfare agents. Some of the commericial products Mr. Boisen has help bring to market include rapid diagnostics for Giardia lambia, Nieserria gonorrhea, Chlamydia trachomatis, and pathogenic E. coli / Shigella-like Toxin. Mr. Boisen is currently supervising the validation of the first generation of potentially commerically available Lassa Fever diagnostics supported the NIAID grant for recombinant protein-based Lassa Fever diagnostics.
Matt also serves as Head BBQ Chef and Golf Instructor at the staff house in Kenema, Sierra Leone.
